It’s been a long time coming but AutoCAD WS for Android is finally available for download from the Android Market.
Now anyone with a phone or tablet running Android 2.1 or higher can enjoy the mobile CAD experience that AutoCAD WS brings. We’ve brought all the functionality over from the iOS version and we’re looking forward to ebmbracing a whole new community of AutoCAD users.
AutoCAD WS for Android is ready to use right now in nine languages including English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. We’d love to hear from you as soon as you have it installed.

Updates to the AutoCAD WS Web App
In addition to the new release of AutoCAD WS for Android, we’re also making a number of significant upgrades to the AutoCAD WS web app. These upgrades will be available to you regardless on which mobile device you use.
- Anywhere Storage - Now you can connect your AutoCAD WS web and mobile account to a variety of storage sites. Click on the following tutorials to learn how to connect to: Buzzsaw, Box.net, Dropbox (via DropDAV), MobileMe, Egnyte and even your own Fille server or SharePoint site.
- Plot-to-PDF/DWFx -- You can now create PDF or DWFx files from your DWG files for plotting or sharing with others.
- PDF Support -- You are now able to open markup and share a PDF in AutoCAD WS in the same way as a DWG file.
We will elaborate further on each of these updates in the coming days. In the meanwhile start exploring the new apps and features and let us know what you think.

Can’t get this to download on my tablet… says device not compatible. Is there a different way to get the apk and sideload it? Thanks.
Daniel Swords April 20 2011
I uploaded a PDF to WS that I published from MEP 2012; however, I get an error both on my device and online when I try to open it. The online site says something regarding elements in the PDF that are not supported in AutoCAD WS, but it’s just a plain old PDF with no special features in it.
Daniel Swords April 20 2011
Ah, well it appears that the error is that the PDF must only contain one page. That is quite restrictive when you consider that a single PDF of a set of drawings is the most likely format to be used in the real world (rather than a separate PDF for each drawing that is).
Iris April 20 2011
Hi Daniel, PDF files with multiple pages are supported. We’ll look into this problem and come back to you.

Mic,
Try to remove your SD card and place it in your device again. Make sure that the SD card is not full. If it doesn’t work please contact us at feedback@autocadws.com

Is there a way to connect my Live sync (preferable) or Skydrive? I have tried and have not been able to so far. I seem to be missing something (or it just doesn’t work).
Tal April 21 2011
LiveDrive doesn’t officially support webDAV clients (like connecting to it using Windows web folders), although it does use webDAV as the means of moving the data around. Which webDAV address are you using for LiveDrive?
Nick April 26 2011
@Tal
re: webDAV
?? What do you mean what webDAV address? We are talking about the same thing (http://explore.live.com/windows-live-mesh?os=other) right? If I said LiveSync I meant Windows Live Mesh (they changed the name back and forth throughout the beta and release cycles).

Does anyone know how to make it cover both screens on the Kyocera Echo. It’s a new dual screen phone. But the ACWS only uses one of the screens.

Has anyone been able to load it on HTC Thunderbolt? It says it is installed but there is nothing there. Shouldn’t it appear as an app?

Isn´t listed on my tablet’s Android market. It´s faster than my phone that runs Autocad WS without any problems. Why?
Daniel May 11 2011
What tablet are you running? You can contact us at feedback@autocadws.com with details and we’ll look into it further.

Does anyone know if the 15MB file support limit will eventually be lifted?
