AutoCAD WS probably isn’t the first piece of cloud-based software you have ever used and most likely won’t be the last.
You may already be used to working in the cloud with your online email service, Google Docs or other software as a service (SaaS) product, but you still need to know that your content is secure.
We felt this was a good time for AutoCAD WS to address the issue of security and to state our commitment to industry best practices for document security.
You can read or download our new white paper AutoCAD WS Security – Cloud Computing and More by clicking the link or the image on the right.
You can also forward this white paper to your colleagues, manager, IT team or whoever is in charge of your company’s data security. Businesses are already adopting AutoCAD WS as a vital design tool both in and out of the office. We want to make sure that the people who are concerned about security feel comfortable using AutoCAD WS – so you can do your job the way you want.
If you have further questions about the security of your drawings in AutoCAD WS, send us an email to feedback@autocadws.com or leave us a message in the usual places.

When I upload a bunch of dwg files to WS for a colleague or client to download the files will not download. It thinks about for a while then the web page goes blank (white). I can download each file one at a time but that is way too time consuming. I have no use for WS if this is how it is going to work (or not work).

Chris – can you shoot an email to feedback@autocadws.com with the details and we’ll work with you to get this handled? Thanks.

While i love the idea of cloud computing, will there be a day when AutoCAD WS can act like our company network storage of drawings? And will i be able to create new drawings from my tablet even with out it having access to the net? And when will Autodesk charge for this service? Or will it be part of the AutoCAD package?

Mr C.
You can connect AutoCAD WS to your company storage today using “Connect to service”. See here – http://www.autocadws.com/tutorials/connect-to-autocad-ws-with-sharepoint-or-other-windows-server/
We’ll add creation capabilities once we feel the app has enough tools and capabilities in to support this well.
We assume there might be a premium version of the service in the future, but regardless of that the majority of the features will always be available for free.
